Easter Conference

We began our mission Easter Conference, a celebration of the life and resurrection of Jesus Christ, on Friday evening with a fireside featuring our  missionary choir.

The next morning we put on our "Helping Hands Vests" for a service project at the colliseum.

In the meantime, the cooks had already began preparations for the evening meal.  The Kalama family came from Tortola to put on a Luau.  Elders Akana, Matautia, Nauhi, Oden and Piperato were the helpers.  The pit was dug, filled with rock, fire started and the pig prepared to cook:

After the rocks are nice and hot, some are put inside the pig

The pig is wrapped in chicken wire and placed on the rocks.

Followed by the sweet potatoes...

Then everything is covered with banana leaves

Next wet burlap goes on..

Pipes are inserted at the corners

The spectators are enjoying the process!

A tarp is placed on top and sealed around the edges with sand

Brother Kalama sprays water into the pipes to create steam and then the pipes are pulled out and the pipe holes covered with sand to prevent the steam from escaping.

The pig will cook for about 7 hours

After the service project the missionaries sang in the food court at the mall

Played some group games

When the pig was done we enjoyed a delicous meal....
With some entertainment

We had a great time together having fun, serving others, and sharing testimonies of the Lord Jesus Christ through songs, words and deeds.

It is our testimony that Jesus Christ is the Savior and Redeemer of the world.  He Lives!!
