Branch Conference in St. Croix

We flew to St. Croix to hold a branch conference with the rest of the mission presidency.  It was a wonderful weekend with great people.  We'll let the pictures tell the story.

Service at the Red Cross on Saturday

The leader of the Red Cross in St. Croix told the members of the St. Croix Branch that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are partners with the Red Cross in serving others throughout the world and what an honor it was to build that relationship together in their community.

We enjoyed meeting with the members of the Branch on Sunday.

The Elect

Serving in the mission office is very different from the type of service we did previously on our mission. The Lord blesses us each day with experiences to help us remember that this is His work we are doing regardless of what specific assignment we are filling at the time. This past month Sister Button received a very special phone call at the mission office. The voice on the other end of the phone said, "I want to convert to your church and I need to have the missionaries come visit me tomorrow afternoon. I also need to know what time church services are on Sunday." (This is what we refer to as a "golden contact!") It just so happened that the missionaries who work in her area stopped by the office so the referral was immediately given to them and they were able to begin teaching her the next day. A few days later we had the opportunity to meet this special lady and help the Elders teach a lesson. Last week we were honored to attend her baptism and confirmation.
