Three Angels

“And Christ hath said:  If ye will have faith in me ye shall have power to do whatsoever thing is expedient in me.”  Moroni 7:33

Last week we had a faith building experience with a companionship of three sisters, Sister Jorgenson, Sister Rush, and Sister Smith during TRC (when they practice teaching us in Spanish.)  The previous week following their lesson during “feedback time”, we invited them to stretch a bit the next week.  We invited Sister Smith, who has struggled the most with the language, to do at least 50% of the talking the next week. We invited Sister Rush to not use notes and just teach by the Spirit.  We invited Sister Jorgenson, to pray for her companions during the lesson, but not say anything until the end and then bear her testimony.  They accepted the invitation and came full of faith, ready to teach us, hoping to succeed.  They brought a feeling of love and unity.  Sister Smith was able to communicate better than she ever has before.  She led the companionship in a beautiful lesson.  Her companions gave her smiles of encouragement.  Sister Rush spoke with confidence and conviction.  We knew that she knew the truth of what she was teaching.  Sister Jorgenson silently prayed for and watched her companions as the Lord worked a miracle with them.  She added her testimony at the end.  We were blessed to witness three angels.
“…have angels ceased to appear unto the children of men? . . . Nay; for it is by faith that miracles are wrought; and it is by faith that angels appear and minister unto men” Moroni 7:36-37

Last trip with the Glaziers

Stewart and Sandra Glazier presided over the MTC (Missionary Training Center) in Santo Domingo for two years.  Their mission ended in January 2013.  Before they left we took one last Saturday get-away with them and the Mahons.  The Mahons are serving a mission working with the Young Single Adults and Institute program in Santo Domingo.  Here are a few of the pictures we took -

Leon along side of one of President Trujillo's limosines - Trujillo was an evil the dictator of the DR for almost thirty years.  Although he has been dead for over 40 years, we felt a very dark, evil feeling just looking at that car and realizing the terrible fear that so many people felt when they saw that car and devil inside it.
